I expected the fried chicken to be gooey and gummy tasting as that has been my experience with a lot of Korean style fried chicken In the Portland area ... this was surprisingly crisp on the outside while drenched in a spicy sauce. Chicken pieces were huuuuuuge and juicy and very very tender.
Loved the spicy ramen ... per another reviewers complaints.. it looks like they have mastered the soft boil egg ..
Dumplings were crispy and came with a great sauce that cut through all the fatty goodness.
Definitely comfort food and definitely something that will warm the belly and give it some jelly -

Promising new Korean ramyun stall now part of the Zipper.
My partner and I started out with the excellent mandu dumplings -- deep-fried bite-sized pockets of beef, pork, and cabbage in a vinegar soy sauce. Our bowl of sari ramyun (chicken and beef broth, brisket, seaweed, scallion, sprouts, egg) was somewhat less impressive, a bit flat and tasteless, making us think we should have gone with the spicy version. But the perfectly prepared gochu-jang glazed fried chicken wings were an absolute delight -- crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, making them the meal's star. My partner did find the gochu-jang glaze a bit too ketchupy and said that on our next visit we should try the wings with garlic soy sauce. Still, the Korean fried wings are not to be missed. While I opted for a StormBreakers IPA my partner enjoyed a glass of Sari's mango basil lemonade, a drink she said nicely complemented the rest of our meal.
The Zipper is an inviting place, and Sari's menu certainly warrants repeat visits. Fast, friendly service. Best of all, really good food. -

I gravitated towards the least expensive entree: bulgogi, rice, pickles and greens. The simple combination satisfied and is a good portion, perfect if you're craving a small meal.
The homemade paste that make the noodles spicy is excellent. I recommend NOT ordering the noodles spicy though, but rather, get a side of the sauce and apply to each bite. This way, the broth doesn't become liquid spice. I hope they offer that sauce as a condiment choice for other dishes. In regard to the noodles, just remember they don't claim to be Vietnamese Pho, so a comparison to that isn't fair. On their own merit the noodle dish is good.
I was only "meh" on the Red Chili Korean fried chicken wings. The sauce has excellent texture, but it significantly lacks heat. Moreover, I'm not a fan of bones.
But the Mandoo (fried dumplings) were delicious and a good deal too. They're not your average Chinese style pot sticker.
The mango lemonade was refreshing and at a fair price. Service was super fast.
Parking absolutely sucks around this venue. -

We live close to the Zipper and was super excited to hear about a new Korean spot. It's hard to find good Korean fried chicken... this place is the one!! We got the garlic soy fried chicken. YAMMYY. We also got the mandoo dumplings which might've been my favorite! Must try. I was hesitant about the Ramyun since I'm a bit picky with ramen/Ramyun but I loved it! We shared the spicy Sari Ramyun and flavor was very delicious with a little kick to it. Everything was great and all for a reasonable price. We're definitely going back to try the other menu items. I hope Sari stays for a long time. !

I wish this place was closer to my house because I would go here for my Korean chicken fix every day. Probably not the best for my diet but priorities.
I was born and raised in Korea and I would say this place is on par with any decent restaurant you'd randomly walk into in the streets of Korea. The food tastes great and tastes authentic. There was no weird twist. Portions are great. They stick to few plates on the menu and they do them well. I'm one happy customer.
Please move closer to me.
